How we can be citizens of the world.

There’s no simple answer or rule that tells us that we should do anything for anyone other than ourselves. The thing is, there’s an entire world apart when we do decide to think and act for the benefit of the collective. To start small, we can think about our friends. This is another human outside of ourselves that we’ve shared a bit of heart with. The same applies for parenting and child-rearing. The majority of conversations I’ve had with these groups has shown a resounding pattern. Life was infinitely brighter, broader, and more fulfilling.

It’s not so much making a case to care about others, but imagining the endless immensity of giving. It’s an entire ocean of awareness and collective support that we don’t often clue into. But it exists.

Being a citizen of the world means taking a stance to fight injustice. Taking a stance to be driven by a mission. A mission of any size, but a mission nonetheless. It’s being a citizen focused on healing and fostering community for all of us out there that can sometimes feel alone, unappreciated, lost, scared, or confused. It’s a dedication to cultures, to bridging the gaps of racism and segregation. It’s a commitment to uplifting rather than cutting down.

We’re out here. Shame and all when we can’t “change” everything with a snap of the fingers. But that is ok. It’s a journey of embracing the situation as is and transforming the way you see the world, and expansion.
