What is the most basic sound if not a word? And that word is the heart. Often, we aren’t paying attention to the hard, yet somewhat subtle beat of our primary body part, the heart. It’s a ba-dump, a beat in two, and a resounding pulse that is always there.
Music, has the power to resonate with our souls. What is the first sound we heard in the wound? The heartbeat of our own mother. Maybe even our own heartbeat.
The question is whether we can tap into these musical notes, and these rhythms in order for us to find peace within ourselves.
Yesterday, I went into a drum circle of the Sufi Tradition and learned so much about the natural rhythm that is in the world. Somehow, and somewhere it exists.
So what is this? What will I be, what will I become based on the notes of the world. There is an undercurrent there of the notes, and the undercurrent of a rhythm, that we can dig into or we can dig out of.
The real presence here is whether we can allow ourselves to be free. To be open to it. To be solid, and to be loving.
